Parents are encouraged to come shop with their students before school from 7:45 am to 8:15 am, as well as during each class’ assigned media times. For the BOGO sale, shoppers can choose whether they want to receive a free book with their purchase, or they can choose to donate their free book to their classroom. Teachers will provide a wish list of books they would like for their classroom libraries. We will also have a bin for books donated for our Little Free Library, which will be installed in the outdoor classroom area this spring. For this Book Fair, students will be able to shop during their media connect classes if there are at least 2 parent volunteers signed up for the time slot. Please be sure to volunteer if you would like to ensure that your student is able to shop at that time. To sign up head to the PTA website: http://croftpta.com/ We've added an evening shopping time on Thursday, April 12, from 5-7 p.m.! Early Release Day- Students will be release from school early Wednesday 4/18 at 12:15. Please notify your child's teacher of any transportation changes for this day. Check Out What We're Learning...Literacy- Hopefully you've heard something about our new favorite book "Knuffle Bunny" written by Mo Willems! If you haven't I'm sure you will this week as we continue our study of close reading with "Knuffle Bunny Too"! This week during our close reading we will mostly focus on how our students can make text-to-self connections. This will be a more in-depth look at text-to-self connections as we have studied this concept earlier in the school year.
Sight Words- say, when, your, about Science/Writing- This week we will begin our two week long research project/book on the season of spring. From the science perspective we will be exploring outside to see what changes we have observed from winter to spring. Students will also have the opportunity to do some research with technology and a partner to discover other ways we can observe the changes that occur during the spring season. As we are researching, the students will be note-taking and will ultimately write their own spring book. Math- This week we are wrapping up our studies in Topic 10, decomposing numbers 11-20. Once we have finished our topic 10 review we will make our way into topic 11, which is: counting to 100. As many of our students already know how to count to 100 we will be challenging our students to begin counting from any given number up to 100 and also count by 10's to 100. Comments are closed.
